Mathew's Memory Tree

yesterday was a day filled with many emotions...we met with the Mayor of St. Albert, his assistant who is a former parent of the school, the principal of JJ Nearing, one of Mathew's best freinds and her mother and a landscaper who had contacted us following my article in the newspaper about the destruction of Mathew's tree...it was a great meeting!

we came up a bunch of ideas and we are in the process of making the area in front of the school in a park tribute to Mathew, the school and the community....the Mayor has committed to helping us with doing planting and to making this a community affair complete with acknowledgement about the space (what a kind heart)

as i sat in the room and moved to tears by the amazing things that were offered...i was humbled by the impact that my little boy had on so many people and continues to do so...as i watched his little friend Alexie shed tears for her friend who now is in heaven and the tears of the staff from the school, it amazed me further what a huge impact he had on so many people and that he will never be forgotten...i am truly honoured to be his mommy and am looking forward to working on "his park"

I Love You Forever

this layout was my first layout as part of the design team for The Urban Scrapbook...our challenge was to use a title of a book in the layout...when Mathew was born we were given this book by one of his nurses in NICU...a moment that we cherish always

Forever Loved

this layout was designed in November 2008 in honor of those people in our lives who have passed on...it was chosen as the challenge winner for the month at The Urban Scrapbook

Mathew's Tree

a layout i did of Mathew's Tree which was planted in June 2006 as a memorial tribute to him outside his Grade 1 window in the front yard of his school...on January 10th 2009 it was destroyed by teenagers with nothing to do on a Saturday night...we are currently in the process of working on re-establishing the memorial

hello from a little butterfly kiss!

i was inspired to set up my own blog as a tribute to my little man Mathew who shines down on me from heaven...and to share my love of scrapbooking... i scrapbook to treasure memories of Mathew and my path through life, as a way of expressing myself through the art of scrapbooking and simply as part of coping and healing...my hope it that i can share with others the gifts that i have learned from my greatest blessing, my punkin Mathew.
